Now that the beta is over, I can say that I really enjoyed it. This was not all flowers and love of course, and I did rage quit a few times
.
The game is really tough for solo players and the gameplay feels different from BO6. I personally think that sliding is less forgiving than in BO6, meaning that âit feelsâ your hitbox just becomes a giant âhead-hitboxâ while youâre sliding, and I was dying much faster than in BO6 if I happened to slide in front of an ennemy player.
But as the beta progressed I adapted and kept the slide for lateral moves and around corners etc..It is a bit strange as I feel it breaks a bit the fluidity of the game and it âagainâ feels like there some sort of paradox there : The game is meant to be fast and furious, but not âthat fastâ, they still want to protect âslowerâ players andâŚitâs OK.
Treyarch is certainly seeking the perfect recipe for a mix that will satisfy as many players as possible (#CaptainObvious), sometimes these choices donât work properly but here it felt OK.
That said, the introduction of the âOpenâ modeâwhich drastically reduces SBMMâalong with the announcement that lobbies will stick around, is excellent news
.
I canât wait to squad up w/ my former BO4 buddies (who joined during the âopenâ beta) to test the coop campaign and play altogether on the multi.
The maps are much, much better than in BO6 as well !
